Church Information| Maranatha Bible Baptist Church General Information Our Service Times: Sunday School............9:45 AM Morning Service.........10:45 AM Evening Service...........5:00 PM Wednesday Evening.....7:00 PM OUR POSITION We believe the Bible to be God's complete and inspired revelation to man (II Timothy 3:16). We believe in the direct act of creation by God, and His continuing control of all that exists (Genesis 1 : 1; Daniel 4:34-35). We believe in the Triune God (three divine Persons in one God) as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17). We believe in the incarnation and virgin birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Matthew 1:18-23). We believe that it is only the vicarious (He was punished for our sins) and sinless sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for all mankind that pleases the Father (Isaiah 53:4-6). We believe that it is the blood of Jesus Christ that cleanses men from their sin (I John 1:7). We believe in the complete inability of man to save himself because of his sinful, blind, and dead condition(Epehesians 2:4-5; Romans 3:10-18). We believe that the punishment for sin is eternity in a literal lake of fire as described in the Bible, the Word of God (Matthew 13:41-42; 25:46; Revelation 20:14-15). We believe that it is the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit of God that brings life to the dead soul of man (Titus 3:5). We believe that salvation comes only through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, by the grace of God, and not by works at all (Ephesians 2:8-9). We believe that we are saved to live a pure life before God and through Christ, and to act as His ambassadors on earth to mankind (I Peter 2:9; II Corinthians 5:20). We believe in the bodily Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to take His saints with Him for eternity, and to display His wrath on all who have rejected Him (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 19:11ff). We believe that God displayed His love and wrath simultaneously to mankind by the sacrifice of Jesus the Son of God on the cross (Isaiah 53:5; John 3:16). OUR PRACTICE We believe God wants His saints to live as unto Him, which means walking as Jesus Himself walked while on this earth (I John 2:6). We can do this only as we walk in the the power of the Spirit of God and not in the flesh (Galatians 5:16-25); only as Christ lives our lives for us (Galatians 2:20); only as we shine as pure lights for Him (I Peter 1:15-16; Matthew 5:16). As a result of knowing this truth, we desire, as a church, to live our lives in purity, bringing glory to God (I Corinthians 10:31). We, therefore, desire to obey the commands of God to be separate from sin, false teachers and their false religious systems, and disobedient (professing) brethren. On the same grounds we also reject the ecumenical movement, which involves the attempts to unify believers with non-believers (II Corinthians 6:14-7:1). OUR PURPOSE We believe that the main purpose of the Church is to bring glory to God. We can do this by living in obedience to His Word. The Church is concerned primarily with eternal matters, and uses God's physical creation for the eternal purposes of God. OUR PLAN To build Maranatha Bible Baptist Church (by the grace of God) to be an effective tool for the use of the Lord. To reach out from the solid foundation of the local church, with Jesus Christ as its head, to all the world. To reach as many souls as we can, by the grace of God, with the gospel, while not overemphasizing soulwinning at the expense of being obedient to the Word of God. To endeavor to live our lives in love for God and one another. OUR PERSONAL GOD We worship the God of the Bible. God has revealed Himself to man so that we may know Him, and also have a personal relationship with Him. However, we will never know Him completely, for He is incomprehensible. We will never approach unto Him in our sin for He is holy. This holy God is immensely above and separated from sinners. In order to approach Him we must be cleansed of our sin. How ? That is all dependent of who God is, and what He has done to make salvation possible. We must know, then, that God is merciful, and we can approach Him because He willing to forgive. However, forgiveness comes only to a repentant sinner. A repentant sinner is one who realizes God's holiness, his own impurity, and God's ability to be merciful to him if he comes to God begging for that mercy. If he does not change his mind about his sin and his sinful life and beg God for mercy, there awaits him the wrath of God which is now abiding on him (John 3:36). God is no respecter of persons, for He will judge by everlasting fire them that reject His Son and His sacrifice on the cross for their sin. He was offered as the perfect sacrifice and the only acceptable sacrifice to God for the souls of mankind. That sacrifice to God was the complete payment for all of your sins if you will receive (by faith) that Person who died as the ransom for you and for your sins. For any person who has received the Lord Jesus Christ as his own savior, God Himself receives that person as His only child. By His own love, He promises then and only then, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
